Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and Mr.M.S.Ramesh, learned Additional Government Pleader, who took notice for the respondent and with their consent, the main writ petition is taken up for disposal at the admission stage itself. 2.The writ petition has been filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India seeking direction to the respondent to consider the application of the petitioner dated 29.6.2015, registered on its file under R No. 35338/A3/2015 for the grant of contract carriage permit to ply on the routes in the state of Tamil Nadu and grant the same.

3. The petitioner has applied for issue of state wide contract carriage permit before the respondent, which was received by the respondent on 29.06.2015. It is the contention of the petitioner that though the application was received and the respondent assigned R.No.35338/A3/2015, the same was not considered and orders passed either granting the permit or rejecting the same. petitioner has approached this Court.

4. Without going into the merits of the case, this writ petition is disposed of by directing the respondent to consider the application of the petitioner for the grant of contract carriage permit to ply on the routes in the state of Tamil Nadu and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. No costs.
