Mr. A.Tamilvanan, learned Government Advocate (Puducherry) takes notice for the respondents. By consent of the learned counsel for both sides, the writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.

2. Claiming issuance of patta based upon the title and prolonged possession, the petitioners have made a representation to the fourth respondent on 15.09.2011, followed by the reminder, dated 17.10.2013 to the other respondents and on their non-consideration, the present writ petition has been filed by the petitioners.

3. Heard the learned counsel for both sides.

4. Taking into consideration the limited scope of the prayer sought for by the petitioners and without going into merits of the case, a direction is hereby issued to the fourth respondent to pass appropriate orders on the pending representations of the petitioners, dated 15.09.2011 and 17.10.2013, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order, after affording an opportunity of hearing to the petitioners as well as the third parties, if so required.
