O R D E R

This petition has been filed to direct the 2nd respondent to register the petitioner's complaint dated 18.09.2015 as against her husband Karthick her in laws.

2. The petitioner has lodged a complaint as against her husband Karthik. The marriage between the petitioner and Karthick was solemnized on 19.09.2010 as per hindu rites and customs in Salem. Subsequently, there was dowry harassment. Hence, the petitioner lodged a complaint on 18.09.2015 with the 2nd respondent police. Since no action was taken by the 2nd respondent, the present petition has been filed.

3. When the matter is taken up for consideration, learned Additional Public Prosecutor submitted that the complaint was sent by post. If the petitioner gives a fresh complaint in person, necessary action will be taken.

4. Considering the submissions made on either side, this Court directs the petitioner to give a fresh complaint to the second respondent police along with a copy of this order. On receipt of the said complaint, the second respondent police is directed to conduct an enquiry and upon enquiry, if the materials are gathered indicating any cognizable offence, he is directed to proceed further in accordance with law as early as possible. In the course of enquiry, if no prima facie is made out or the matter is civil in nature, he is directed to pass appropriate orders on the complaint made by the petitioner.

5. The criminal original petition is disposed of accordingly.
