ORDER

The petitioner challenges the notice of demand bearing Ref.No.2037 dated 07.12.2010 issued by the respondent, the Divisional Engineer-VII, Chennai Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board, 25, Sathiyamurthy Road, Chetpet, Chennai-31. 2.

When the matter is called, the learned Counsel for the petitioner would submit that as per the property tax now being paid by the petitioner in respect of Flat No.2A, 1st Floor, 'Shanthiniketan Apartments' at Old No.66/2, New No.70/2, Poes Garden, Chennai-86, the water tax has to be revised by the respondent and if the same is revised, the petitioner is willing to pay the same within a period stipulated by this Court. 3.

Though, this Writ Petition has been filed to quash the demand bearing Ref.No.2037 dated 07.12.2010 issued by the respondent, as argued by the learned Counsel for the petitioner, this Court is of the view that it would be suffice to direct the respondent to revise the water tax for the premises-in-question https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this Order and on receipt of the revised tax demand, the petitioner shall pay the said amount within the period mentioned in that demand.

The Writ Petition is ordered accordingly. No costs. Consequently, connected Miscellaneous Petition is also closed.
