(Order of the Court was made by M.M.SUNDRESH, J.) This writ petition has been filed by the petitioner, who is a former President of Mullipakkam Panchayat, seeking a direction to pass an order on his representation dated 25.09.2017 by which a permanent appointment to the post of Panchayat Secretary is sought for the purpose of proper administration of the said Panchayat.

2. Learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that there is a spread of dengue fever in the locality of Mullipakkam Village, Thiruporur Taluk. No adequate steps have been taken to control dengue fever, in view of the absence of a permanent Panchayat Secretary, as only in-charge person is in control of the administration of Mullipakkam Panchayat.

3. Mr.R.Vijayakumar, learned Additional Government Pleader, on instructions, submits that the question with respect to the jurisdiction of the authority to appoint a permanent Panchayat Secretary on permanent basis is pending consideration before this Court.

4. The sum and substance of the grievance of the petitioner is that steps required to be taken to control spreading of dengue fever.

5. Therefore, we direct the respondents to take appropriate steps to see that dengue fever is being controlled.

6. With the above observation and direction, the writ petition is disposed. No costs.
