Writ petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for issuance of Writ of Mandamus, directing the 1st respondent to consider the petitioner representation dated 11.07.2017, consequently give Electricity Service Connection to site No.8, No.15/1, Meenakshi Nagar, Venkateshawara Nagar, Kanakkampalayam Village and Post, Perumanallur Road, Tiruppur District.

Mr.S.K.Rameshwar, learned Standing Counsel takes notice for the respondents. By consent of the parties, the main writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.

2. The petitioner seeks for a direction to the first respondent to consider his representation dated 11.07.2017 seeking for electricity service connection to the property at No.8, No.15/1, Meenakshi Nagar, Venkateshawara Nagar, Kanakkampalayam Village and Post, Perumanallur Road, Tiruppur District.

3. The grievance of the petitioner is that even though he had applied for getting service connection as early as on 11.08.2016 and the first respondent assigned Register No.17108161391 and also received a sum of Rs.1,300/- towards deposit on 23.08.2016, vide Bill No.0931981, so far the petitioner's request was not considered. Therefore, the petitioner gave another representation on 11.07.2017, which is sought to be disposed of, through this writ petition.

4. Considering the above stated facts and circumstances, without expressing any view on the claim made by the petitioner, this writ petition is disposed of, by directing the respondents to consider the claim of the petitioner and pass orders on the same on merits and in accordance with law, after hearing the rival claimants, if any. Such exercise shall be done by the respondents within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. No costs.
