Mr.M.Murali Government Advocate COMMON ORDER Earlier, this Court by an order dated 03.07.2025, directed the learned Principal District and Sessions Court, Tiruvallur to dispose of LAOP Nos. 373/2022, 371/2022 and 372/2022 within a period of four months from the date of receipt of a copy of that order. As the said case could not be disposed of within the stipulated time, the court below by letter dated 17.03.2026 sought extension of time. Hence, the matter is listed before this court today.
2. The learned Principal District and Sessions Judge, Tiruvallur submitted that owing to the pendency of about 4898 cases on the file of the Court, efforts are being taken to dispose of the cases expeditiously by conducting proceedings on a weekly basis, with limited adjournments, in accordance with law. However, the Court below was unable to dispose of the said matters within the time fixed by this Court. Hence, a further period of three months was sought for disposal of the cases.
3. Considering the request of the learned Principal District and Sessions Judge, Tiruvallur, this court is inclined to grant an extension of time. Accordingly, the time for disposal of the LAOP Nos. 373/2022, 371/2022 and 372/202 is extended by a further period of three months from the date of receipt of copy of this order. However, it is made clear that no further extension of time will be granted.
