Prayer: Writ petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying to issue a writ of mandamus directing the respondents to dispose of the petitioner's citizenship application dated 17.05.2010 and received by the third respondent on 25.05.2012 in a manner known to law. ORDER

The petitioner claims to have given a representation dated 09.01.2013 to the respondents seeking for Indian Citizenship. 2.According to the petitioner, he has given an application dated 17.05.2010 to the first and second respondents and the same was received by the third respondent dated 25.05.2010.

3. However, the learned Government Advocate submits that no such application has been received by the District Collector/third respondent herein in respect of Indian Citizenship.

4.Considering the facts and circumstances of this case, the petitioner is hereby directed to make out fresh application to the third respondent/District Collector, within a week from the date of receipt of a copy of this order and on such receipt of the same, the third respondent is directed to forward the same to the 4th respondent forthwith. The fourth respondent is directed to dispose of the petitioner's citizenship application dated 17.05.2010, within a week thereafter.

With the above direction, this writ petition is disposed of. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
