ORDER

The instant writ petition has been filed to direct the respondent to disburse the belated payment of interest amount of Provident Fund, Gratuity, Leave Surrender and other unsettled benefits of Earned leave salary surrender for the year of 2009-2011 & 2017-2018 and 10 days salary with effect from 01.06.2023 within the stipulated time as may be fixed by this Court. 2.

The case of the petitioner is that, he retired from service on 31.05.2023, whereas his retirement benefit was paid only on 10.03.2025. However, no interest was paid for such delayed payment. In this regard, the petitioner has sent a representation to the respondent dated 24.03.2025. 3.

Learned Standing Counsel for the respondent would submit that upon eligible amount, the petitioner is entitled to 6% interest from the date of retirement till the date of payment.

In view of such fair submission, this Court deems it appropriate to direct the respondent to pay the eligible and admissible amount with interest at the rate of 6% per annum for the belated payment of terminal

benefits from the date of retirement till the date of actual disbursal of the terminal benefits of the petitioner within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

In the result, the Writ Petition is disposed of with the above direction. No costs.
