O R D E R

This Criminal Original Petition has been filed to direct the respondent police to investigate the case in Crime No.14 of 2013 and to file a final report within a time period.

2. Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondent.

3. When the matter was taken up for hearing, the learned Additional Public Prosecutor submitted that the post of Inspector of Police, District Crime Branch, Nagapattinam is vacant, despite which, the Superintendent of Police, Nagapattinam has entrusted the investigation of the case in Crime No.14 of 2013 to the Sub Inspector of Police, District Crime Branch, Nagapattinam.

4. On instructions, the learned Additional Public Prosecutor further submitted that 102 persons have been cheated by the accused in this case and investigation is in progress. He also submitted that the petitioner is not cooperating with the investigation.

5. The petitioner is directed to co-operate with the investigation and the respondent Police is directed to complete the investigation expeditiously.

With the above directions, this Criminal Original Petition is closed.
