ORDER

This writ petition has been filed seeking a writ of certiorarified mandamus calling for the records relating to the order of the respondent made in Na.Ka.No.07/B4 PS/2018 dated 27.05.2018 and quash the same and direct the respondent to grant permission for conducting the meeting as applied for by the petitioner.

2. It is the case of the petitioner that he belongs to the DMK party and that, he and others belonging to DMK want to join Amma Makkal Munnetra Kazhagam [AMMK] and that the petitioner had given a requisition to the respondent police for conducting a public meeting on 02.06.2018, which has been rejected by the impugned order dated 27.05.2018, challenging which this writ petition has been filed.

3. This writ petition has become infructuous, inasmuch as we are now on 12.06.2018. However, liberty is granted to the petitioner to give a fresh representation to the respondent police for conducting a public meeting on 24.06.2018 and on such representation being given, the same shall be favourably considered by imposing the necessary restrictions. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
