Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India to issue a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to appoint the petitioners as Forest Watcher in the 30% quota earmarked for AntiPoaching Watchers on the basis of G.O.Ms. No. 205 Environment and Forest (FR-2) Department dated 13.08.2012 within a specified period. By consent, the writ petition is taken up for final disposal. 2.The petitioners would state that they were originally appointed as Anti-poaching Watchers on daily wage basis in the services of Forest Department and their services were regularized with effect from 07.06.2010. It is further stated by the petitioners that G.O.Ms.No.205, Environment and Forest (FR-2) Department dated 13.08.2012 ordered 30% of the vacancies that arise in the cadre post https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/
of Forest Watchers shall be filled up by appointing Anti-poaching Watchers engaged in the Forest Department and inspite of it the said Government Order does not have been given effect to insofar as the petitioners are concerned whose services are continued to be engaged on daily wage basis. The petitioners in this regard submitted representation dated 07.10.2014 to the second respondent and since no orders have been passed, came forward to file this writ petition. 3.Heard the submissions of Mr.S.Mani, learned counsel appearing for the petitioners and Mr.V.Subbiah, learned Special Government Pleader who accepts notice on behalf of the respondents. 4.
Though the petitioners prayed for a larger relief, this Court in the light of the facts and circumstances and without going into the merits of the same directs the second respondent to consider and dispose of the petitioners representation dated 07.10.2014 on merits and in accordance with law and pass orders within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order and communicate the decision taken, to the petitioners. 5.The writ petition is disposed of accordingly.
