Respondents PRAYER : Criminal Original Petition has been filed under Section 482 of the Criminal Procedure Code, to direct the learned CCB and CBCID Metropolitan Magistrate, Chennai to complete the trial in C.C.No.186 of 2022 within the fixed time line directed by this Court. This Criminal Original Petition has been filed to direct the learned Metropolitan Magistrate (CCB and CBCID), Chennai to complete the trial in C.C.No.186 of 2022 within the fixed timeline.

2. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submits that though the final report was filed in January 2022, there was no progress in the trial and the case status downloaded from the website would show that service on the accused is still pending.

3. The learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side) appearing for the first respondent would submit that the case was delayed because service on A2 and A3 could not be completed.

4. It is also found that A3 is no more and A2 has entered appearance through a counsel. Hence, there is no impediment for further progress in the trial.

5. In view of the submissions made by the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side), the learned Metropolitan Magistrate (CCB and CBCID), Chennai is directed to complete the trial in C.C.No.186 of 2022 as expeditiously as possible.

6. With the above direction, this Criminal Original Petition is allowed. No costs.
