ORDER

The petitioner, who was arrested and remanded to judicial custody on 25.03.2026 for the alleged offences under Sections 178, 180 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023, (248, 249 of Indian Penal Code, 1860) in Crime No.54 of 2026 on the file of the respondent police, seeks bail.

2. The case of the prosecution is that the petitioner was found in possession of counterfeit Indian currencies Rs.500/- 62 nos. and was involved in

manufacturing fake currency using Xerox machines. Hence, the case was registered.

3. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner is innocent person and he has been falsely implicated in this case and the currency notes were only Xerox copies kept for showing to his children. It is further submitted that the petitioner is a law-abiding citizen and ready to abide by any conditions that may be imposed by this Court. Hence, he prays to grant bail to the petitioner.

4. The learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) appearing for the respondent submitted that the petitioner was found in possession of counterfeit currency and the investigation is still pending. Hence, he opposed to grant bail to the petitioner.

5. I have given anxious consideration to the submissions made by the learned counsel on either side.

6. Considering the submission of the learned counsel on either side and considering the nature of the allegation and the fact that the investigation is still pending, this is not an appropriate stage to enlarge the petitioner on bail. Hence, this Court is not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner.
