Syndicate Bank v. The Presiding Officer

W.M.P.No.17626 of 2020 in W.P.No.12398 of 2010 J. NISHA BANU, J.

This petition has been filed to substitute 'Canara Bank' instead of 'Syndicate Bank'.

2. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner.

3. Learned counsel for the petitioner would state that Syndicate Bank has now been merged with Canara Bank by notification dated 04.03.2020 issued under Section 9 of the Banking Companies (Acquisition and Transfer of Undertakings) Act, 1970. Therefore, in terms of the Scheme of Amalgamation, Canara Bank alone can prosecute the case.

Therefore, he would pray to substitute Canara Bank in the place of Syndicate Bank.

4. In view of the above, this Petition is ordered.
