Respondents [R2 to R4 impleaded as per order dt.4.1.13 in MP 1/2012 and made herein) Prayer: Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying to issue a writ of mandamus, directing the respondent to consider the petitioner's application dated 18.6.2012 and issue joint patta including the petitioner as a 'joint patta holder', in respect of the land bearing old Survey Nos.113/1A, 4.41, New Survey No.594, situated at 13, Thalikal village, Arakkonam Taluk, Vellore Dist.

Heard the learned counsels appearing on behalf of the parties concerned.

2. Though the prayer is for a larger relief, the learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioner had submitted that it would suffice, if this Court passes an order directing the 1st respondent to pass orders on the Application made by the petitioner, dated 18.6.2012, within a time frame.

3. The learned counsel appearing on behalf of 1st respondent has no objection for such an order being passed by this Court. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

4. In view of the submissions made by the learned counsels appearing on behalf of the parties concerned, the 1st respondent is directed to pass orders on the Application made by the petitioner, dated 18.6.2012, if it is otherwise in order, within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order, after giving an opportunity of hearing to the petitioner, as well as respondents 2 to 4, and the other persons concerned, if any. The petitioner is directed to furnish a copy of the Application, dated 18.6.2012, to the 1st respondent, along with a copy of this order. However, it is made clear that this Court, by this order, has not expressed any opinion on the merits of the matter. Accordingly, the Writ Petition is disposed of, with the above directions. No costs.
