ORDER
The petitioner, who apprehends arrest at the hands of the respondent for the offences punishable under Sections 126(2), 296(b), 309(4), and 351(3) of BNS, 2023 in Crime No.187 of 2025 on the file of the respondent police, seeks anticipatory bail.

2. The case of the prosecution is that the petitioner along with other accused waylaid the defacto complainant and robbed a sum of Rs.400/- from him at knife point.
3. Learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that the allegations are false; that since the petitioner has got some previous cases, he has been falsely implicated in this case; and that in any case, the custodial interrogation of the petitioner is not required and prayed for anticipatory bail to the petitioner.

Learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side) appearing for the respondent police, while opposing the grant of anticipatory bail to the petitioner, reiterated the prosecution case and on instructions submitted that there are nine previous cases against the petitioner, which are similar in nature; that the petitioner is a habitual offender; that the earlier anticipatory bail petition was dismissed as withdrawn on 28.03.2025 in Crl.OP.No.9013 of 2025; and that the petitioner has suppressed the said fact and filed this petition.
5. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner, the learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side) appearing for the respondent police and 2 / 4
perused the materials available on record.
6. Since the petitioner is a habitual offender and has nine previous cases, this Court is not inclined to grant anticipatory bail. Further the petitioner has suppressed the fact that the earlier anticipatory bail was dismissed as withdrawn. Hence the petition is dismissed with cost of Rs.5,000/- payable to the District Legal Service Authority, Chennai, within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
7. With the above direction, this Criminal Original Petition is dismissed.
