(Judgment of the Court was delivered by S.M.Subramaniam,J.) Writ Court on facts found that the punishment was imposed, when the appellant was on duty on 28.08.2017. That apart, action against the appellant had been dropped and the period of punishment also came to an end. AR order impugned. There is also an unexplained long delay in instituting writ proceedings. Thus, Writ Court dismissed the writ petition on the ground of laches.

2. This Court does not find any infirmity in the order of the Writ Court and not inclined to interfere with the same. Consequently, the present Writ Appeal stands dismissed. No costs. Connected Miscellaneous Petition is closed.
