Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India to issue a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents herein to direct the 2nd respondent herein to send proposal to the 1st respondent in the light of the proceedings of the 1st respondent in Na.Ka.No.Ka.A.Pa. Ni./373/70377/2014 dt 30.12.2014 and consequently direct the 1st respondent herein to consider the petitioner herein for compassionate appointment within a reasonable time. By consent, the writ petition is taken up for final disposal. 2.The father of the petitioner while employed as a Police Constable, died in harness on 10.01.1994 leaving behind the petitioner, her mother and two sisters and at the time of the demise, the petitioner and her two sisters were aged about 10, 8 and 6 years respectively. The mother of the petitioner applied for employment on https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

compassionate grounds on 10.01.1995 and it was not properly responded and during the pendency of the application, the petitioner has completed her degree in Commerce and submitted a representation on 13.08.2004 seeking compassionate ground appointment and for that also, no orders have been passed. The petitioner in this regard submitted number of representations to the Hon'ble Chief Minister's Grievance Cell, who in turn directed the Superintendent of Police, Kanyakumari District to pass appropriate order and since no response is forthcoming, came forward to file this writ petition. 3.Heard the submissions of Mr.H.Thayumanaswamy, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and Mr.S.Gunasekaran, learned Government Advocate who accepts notice on behalf of the respondents. 4.

Though the petitioner prayed for the larger relief, this Court in the light of the facts and circumstances and without going into the merits of the same, directs the first respondent to consider and dispose of the petitioner's representation dated 17.09.2014 on merits and in accordance with law and pass orders within a period of ten weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order and communicate the decision taken, to the petitioner. 5.The writ petition is disposed of accordingly.
