Order (Order of the Court was made by Dr.Anita Sumanth J.) The wife of one Kothandan (convict), confined in Central Prison, Puzhal I seeks a mandamus to direct the respondents to grant 30 days ordinary leave without escort. Since she has made a representation dated 27.03.2026 to similar effect, which, admittedly, has been received by the respondents, it is more appropriate that the competent authority consider the same.

2. Since the Deputy Inspector General, who has not been arrayed as a respondent, is the competent authority to consider the representation of the petitioner, let representation dated 27.03.2026 be forwarded to him for consideration and let the authority, pass orders in accordance with the extant Rules and Regulations, expeditiously.
