O R D E R

This Criminal Revision Petition has been filed to set aside the order dated 13.03.2023 passed in Crl.M.P.No.1248 of 2023 by the learned IV Fast Track Court Metropolitan Magistrate at George Town, Chennai.

2. Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned counsel appearing for the respondents 1,3 and 4 and perused the materials available on record.

The petitioner/accused has filed a petition under Sections 219 and 220 Cr.P.C., for joint trial of C.C.Nos.2212, 2213, 2214 and 2215 of 2018 on the file of the IV FTC Metropolitan (Check) Magistrate at George Town, Chennai. The learned Magistrate dismissed the petition by rejecting the request of the petitioner for joint trial and however permitted the petitioner for simultaneous trial. Challenging the same, the petitioner has filed this criminal revision petition.

Admittedly, the respondents have filed separate complaints against the petitioner herein in C.C.No.2212, 2213, 2214 and 2215 of 2018 on the file of the IV FTC Metropolitan Magistrate at George Town, Chennai for the offence under Section 138 of the Negotiable Instruments Act. All the four complaints are against the same accused who is the petitioner herein. Since already separate trials have commenced in the said cases, the learned Magistrate dismissed the petition filed by the petitioner and ordered for simultaneous trial in all the complaints. This Court does not find any reason to interfere with the order passed by the learned Magistrate. Since the complaints in C.C.Nos.2212, 2213, 2214 and 2215 of 2018 are pending from 2018, the learned Magistrate is directed to complete the enquiry simultaneously and dispose of all the matters in accordance with law within a period of three months.

5. With the abovesaid direction, this criminal revision is dismissed. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed. 11.03.2025 mfa Index:Yes/No Speaking Order: Yes/No To The IV Fast Track Court Metropolitan Magistrate at George Town, Chennai.
