Respondents Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for issue of Writ of Mandamus to direct the respondents to remove the encroachments on the lands classified as ''Paadhai Poromboke'' lands in Survey No.161/2, No.175, Mamandur Village, Vandavasi Taluk, Thiruvannamalai District and to take appropriate steps to construct a Public Bus Stand near the Mangalam Mamandur Junction at Keezhkodungalur Cross Road, Vandavasi in Thiruvannamalai District, for the welfare of the general public.

O R D E R
(Order of the Court was made by The Hon'ble Chief Justice) No particular group of people can claim that their request to have a bus stand at a particular place, albeit public land, should be made into a Public Interest Litigation for a direction to establish a bus stand. We have repeatedly said these are all aspects of pure administrative discretion and convenience. Unfortunately, all civic issues are given a colour of a Public Interest Litigation, when we have elected bodies to deal with these aspects and the petitioner and his village people are voters, who elected their representatives. 2.As per record, the Tahsildar, Vandavasi, has informed the Superintendent of Police in respect of the alleged encroachment as the allegation is against the local police authority. 3.Writ petition stands dismissed. No costs.
