PRAYER: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying to issue a Writ of Mandamus directing the 4th Respondent to issue a patta for 10 cents of land in Survey No 95/1, situated in Periyagoundapuram village Vazhapadi Taluk, Salem District-636 106 by considering the petitioners' representation dated 20.02.2025.

ORDER

By consent of learned counsel on both sides, this writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.

2. The present writ petition is filed praying for a writ of mandamus to direct the 4th Respondent to issue patta for 10 cents of land in Survey No 95/1, situated in Periyagoundapuram village Vazhapadi Taluk, Salem District-636 106 by considering the petitioner's representation dated 20.02.2025.

3. It is submitted by the learned counsel for petitioners that the petitioners had submitted a representation on 20.02.2025 for issuance of patta for the land 2/5

comprised in Survey No.95/1, situated in Periyagoundapuram Village, Vazhapadi Taluk, Salem District. However, the same has not been considered by the respondents has been taken by the respondents till date. Aggrieved by the same, the petitioners have filed this writ petition.

At the outset, Mr.A.Selvendran, learned Special Government Pleader for respondents 1, 4 and 6, would submit that that the subject land is a Mayana Padhai and that they intend to evict the petitioners after complying with due process of law. In any view, it was submitted that the respondents would consider the petitioner's representation dated 20.02.2025 and pass appropriate orders in accordance with law within the time stipulated by this Court, which was agreed to by the learned counsel for petitioner.

In view thereof, the respondents shall consider the petitioners' representation dated 20.02.2025 and pass appropriate orders in accordance with law, keeping in view the revenue records including the online register within a period of 8 weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order, after affording the petitioners a reasonable opportunity of hearing. It is made clear that this Court has not expressed any views with regard to the merits of the representation and it is open to the concerned respondent to consider the representation on its 3/5

own merits and in accordance with law. The writ petition stands disposed of with the above directions. No costs.
