Prayer: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying for the issuance of a direction in the nature of Writ of Mandamus, directing the second respondent to appoint a Special Officer to undertake the affairs of the Federation including to conduct the free and fair election for the Managing Committee and Executive Committee of the Society namely M/s.Federation of Consumer Organizations bearing Reg.No.227/1990 for the year 2020-2023 by consider and dispose of his representation dated 11.09.2020 and issue such further order.

Today, 20.06.2024, when the matter is taken up for hearing, the learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the matter is pertaining to conduct the free and fair election for the Managing Committee and Executive Committee of the Society, namely M/s.Federation of Consumer Organizations bearing Reg.No.227/1990 for the year 2020-2023. However, the election period of 2020-2023 was already over. Hence, nothing survives in this writ petition for further adjudication and he has also made an endorsement to that effect in the case bundle.

2. In view of the submission coupled with the endorsement made by the learned counsel for the petitioner, this writ petition is dismissed as infructuous. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
