Respondents Prayer:- Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for issuance of a Writ of mandamus directing the 1st respondent to pass appropriate orders on the representation dated 06.01.2017 made by the petitioner to provide employment in the 2nd respondent society as Office Assistant within stipulated time period to be fixed by this Court.

By consent, the writ petition is taken up for final disposal. M..L.P.Shanmugasundaram, learned Special Government Pleader [Coop.] accepts notice on behalf of the respondents.
The petitioner would aver that he was selected as an Additional Trainee Sales Assistant at Sengodachinnahally Amudham Village Shop by the Tamil Nadu Civil Supplies Corporation [TNCSC] on 20.09.1985 and as per the Policy decisions taken by the State Government, the ration shops have been handed over to the 2nd respondent / Society on 30.09.1987. The petitioner was appointed as a Night Watchman in the services of the 2nd respondent / Society on 10.03.1997.
The petitioner got his promotion to the post of Office Assistant on 01.05.2000 and continued to work in that capacity till 29.07.2016 and thereafter, he was allowed to work and his services have been disengaged from 31.07.2016. It is the claim of the petitioner that he is working in the services of the 2nd respondent / Society for the past 29 years and fulfilled all required qualifications and all of a sudden, without any notice whatsoever, his services has been disengaged and in this regard, he has submitted a detailed representation dated 06.01.2017 to the respondents and since no orders have been passed, he came forward to file the present writ petition.
Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr.L.P.Shanmugasundaram, learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondents.
Though the petitioner has prayed for a larger relief, this Court, in the light of the above facts and circumstances and without going into the merits of the claim projected by the petitioner, directs the 1st respondent to consider and dispose of the petitioner's representation dated 06.01.2017 on merits and in accordance with law and pass orders within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order and communicate the decision taken, to the petitioner as well as to the 2nd respondent herein.
The writ petition stands disposed of with the above direction. No costs.
