ORDER

By consent, the writ petition is taken up and disposed of at the admission stage itself.

2. Mr.P.R.Dhilip Kumar, the learned Standing Counsel takes notice on behalf of the respondent-Tamil Nadu Electricity Board.

3. The prayer in the writ petition is for the issuance of writ of mandamus to direct the second respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 06.04.2016 and to give compassionate appointment to him based on his educational qualification, within a time frame.

4. The case of the petitioner is that his father, while working as a Special Grade Foreman in the respondent-Department died in harness on 12.11.2015.

Therefore, he sent a representation to the respondents seeking compassionate appointment as he is a graduate by enclosing the required documents, such as, legal heir ship certificate, death certificate of his father etc. However, till date no action has been taken by the respondents. Hence the present writ petition seeking the aforesaid relief.

5. The learned Standing Counsel appearing on behalf of the respondent-Department would submit that the respondents will consider the representation of the petitioner, dated 06.04.2016 and pass orders, on merits and in accordance with law.

6. Taking into consideration of the limited prayer, especially, to consider the representation of the petitioner, dated 06.04.2016, this Court without expressing any opinion on the merits of the matter, directs the respondents to consider the representation submitted by the petitioner dated 06.04.2016 and pass orders on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of four months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

7. With the above direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
