Respondents Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issue of writ of mandamus directing the 2nd respondent herein to provide new electricity connection to the petitioner's portion situate at No.171/89, Muthu Kumarasamy Naicker Road (M.K.N. Road), II Floor, Alandur, Chennai - 600 016, within a stipulated period.

O R D E R
The petitioner contends that she is the co-owner of the property bearing Door No.171/89, Muthu Kumarasamy Naicker Road alongwith his brothers, after the demise of their mother who was the original owner of the property. Already there is an existing electricity service connection. The elder brother of the petitioner is residing in the first floor and the younger brother in doing business in the ground
floor. Since the petitioner is residing in the second floor, she seeks new electricity service connection to the second floor of the premises.
2. Mr.P.Gunaraj, learned counsel appearing for the respondents would submit that since the electricity service connection has to be given to the second floor of the premises, it has to be verified whether the said second floor was constructed after getting approval from the local authority.
3. It is represented by the learned counsel for the petitioner that the construction of the entire ground plus two floors has been completed in the year 1996 by the mother of the petitioner.
4. Since the petitioner has already given application dated 11.06.2015 to the 2nd respondent for providing new electricity service connection, the second respondent is directed to verify and provide electricity service connection to the petitioner's premises, if otherwise in order, within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
5. With the above direction, this writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
