Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying for the issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to consider the representation made by the petitioner dated 22.04.2019, one seniority just above these 2, his immediate juniors. Tr.Elangovan and Tr.Veerabadran from their date of commencing their services as Additional Superintendent of Police.

The relief sought for in the present writ petition is to direct the respondents to consider the representation submitted by the writ petitioner on 22.04.2019.

2. The learned Government Advocate, appearing on behalf of the respondent, brought to the notice of this Court that during the pendency 2/6

of the present writ petition, the claim of the writ petitioner for promotion to the post of Deputy Superintendent of Police was considered and accordingly, he was promoted by the Government in G.O.Ms.No.929, Home (Police-2) Department, dated 20.08.2019.

3. Since the claim of the writ petitioner for promotion to the post of Deputy Superintendent of Police was considered and he was promoted, no further adjudication is required in respect of the grounds raised in the present writ petition.

4. With reference to the claim of the further promotion, the learned Government Advocate, appearing on behalf of the respondent, made a submission that the petitioner was found not eligible.

5. In this regard, the petitioner at liberty to approach the Competent Authorities, if any grievance exists. 3/6
