Writ Petition filed Under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the 1st respondent to consider and dispose the petitioner's appeal dated 17.07.2020 with regard to re-grant of license to posses SBML Gun within a limited time frame.

This writ petition is heard through Video-Conferencing, on account of the COVID-19 pandemic situation.
2. The prayer sought for in this Writ Petition is for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the first respondent to consider and dispose of petitioner's appeal dated 17.07.2020 with regard to re-grant of licence to posses SBML Gun within a limited time frame.
3. By consent of both parties, the writ petition is disposed of at the stage of admission itself.

4. The petitioner originally had a licence for the SDML Gun in License No.KK 205/99, which was cancelled on 22.05.2018, based on the recommendation of Superintendent of Police, Krishnagiri District, against which, the petitioner seems to have preferred an appeal dated 22.07.2019 before the first respondent to set aside the order of cancellation of licence and to grant licence to posses SBML Gun. He further states that subsequently he had sent a reminder on 17.07.2020. As there was no response, the present writ petition has been filed.
5. Heard both sides and perused the materials available on record.

Considering the facts and circumstances of the case and the submissions made on either side, this Court, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the case, directs the first respondent to consider petitioner's representation dated 17.07.2020 and pass appropriate orders, on merits and in accordance with law, after issuing notice to the petitioner and by affording him an opportunity of personal hearing, within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
7. With the above directions, this writ petition stands disposed of. No costs.
