Mr.D.Suriyanarayanan, learned Additional Government Pleader takes notice for respondents 1 to 3. Since the writ petition is disposed of without affecting the interest of the 4th respondent, notice to the 4th respondent is dispensed with.
2. The petitioner seeks for a mandamus directing the first respondent to dispose of the revision dated 25.06.2011 filed against the order dated 21.03.2011 passed by the Assistant Director of Land and Survey, Chennai, under proceedings S.R.5/2010.

3. The grievance of the petitioner is that the said revision filed by the petitioner has not been disposed of so far even after a period of seven years and also by granting an interim order on 22.06.2017.
4. This, Court at this stage, is not expressing any view on the merits of the revision filed by the petitioner as it is for the first respondent to consider and decide.
5. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the suit in O.S.No.96/2009 was also withdrawn on 30.11.2015 and therefore, there will not be any impediment for the first respondent to dispose of the revision on merits.
6. Considering the above stated facts and circumstances, this writ petition is disposed of without expressing any view on the merits of the matter, only with a direction to the first respondent to consider the revision filed by the petitioner dated 25.06.2011 and pass orders on the same on merits and in accordance with law after hearing the petitioner and the 4th respondent, if the said revision is not disposed of so far. Such exercise shall be done by the first respondent within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. No costs.
