ORDER
(Order of the Court was made by S.M.SUBRAMANIAM, J.) This Habeas Corpus petition has been filed to direct the respondents 1 and 2 to produce the body of the detenue, namely S.Kasi @ Ramakrishnan aged 82 years.

The petitioner states that she is the wife of the detenue and she is aged about 63 years. The detenue has retired from the Tamil Nadu Water Supply Board. He contested in the Panchayat Election and he was a President of the Panchayat also. That apart, the detenue after his retirement was doing the busines of taking auction of tamarind trees and he was active. On 03.03.2024, around 07.00 A.M., the husband of the petitioner was missing. Thereafter, a complaint was given, which was registered as Crime No.47 of 2024 for Man Missing.

Mr.E. Raj Thilak, the learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing on behalf of the respondents would submit that investigations are in progress. One dead body was identified by the Police and samples are sent for DNA Test. Soon after its completion, the result will be intimated to the petitioner. That apart, the investigations will be progressed as expeditiously as possible.

In view of the said submission, this Court is inclined to direct the 2nd respondent/the Inspector of Police to inform the result of the DNA Test to the petitioner and thereafter, if necessary, continue the investigations in the manner contemplated.

With the above observations, this Habeas Corpus Petition stands disposed of.
