O R D E R

This Petition has been filed by the Petitioner/first accused for speedy trial and disposal of Special Case No.13/2015, pending on the file of the learned Chief Judicial Magistrate, Tiruvannamalai.

2.It is represented that the second accused died. The first accused/Petitioner is facing charges under Section 7 & 13(2) r/w 13(1)(d)(ii) of the Prevention of Corruption Act 1988.

3.The learned Government Advocate would submit that LW1 to LW4 were already examined, thereafter, there was no progress in the the case and now the case is posted on 13.07.2022, for recording evidence of LW5, LW6 & LW7. 4.Considering the fact that the Special Case is of the year 2015, the 2nd Accused already died and though the 1st Accused/Petitioner attained the age of retirement, he was not permitted to retire, the learned Chief Judicial Magistrate Court, Tiruvannamalai is hereby directed to take steps to dispose of the Special Case No.13/2015, pending on his file as expeditiously as possible within a period of four months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 5.Accordingly, this Criminal Original Petition is disposed of.
