The instant writ petition has been filed with a prayer for issuing a Mandamus to direct the respondent to provide the petitioner permanent alternative light duty, in the light of Section 20 of the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016 and on the basis of the Medical Board recommendations, with pay protection and continuity of service and all other attendant benefits on par with other employees.
2. The learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner suffers from chronic neurological illness, and there is no possibility to control a vehicle in untoward situations.
3. At this juncture, the learned Standing Counsel for the respondent would submit that the petitioner has already been provided light duty in the Department of RC Unit in the workshop, in respect of light repairs. 2/4
4. Recording the submission made by the learned Standing Counsel, this Writ Petition is closed. No costs.
