O R D E R

The present criminal original petition has been filed to direct the respondents not to harass the petitioners.

2. It has been stated by the petitioners that the respondent police has come to the house of the petitioner searching for their son P.Parthiban, aged about 21 years, stating that the petitioner's son is involved in a murder case in Crime No.277 of 2015. The second respondent is threatening the petitioners to hand over their son. After the said incident, the petitioners are unable to trace their son. The respondents are frequently calling the petitioners for enquiry and harassing them. Hence the petitioners have come forward with the present Criminal Original Petition.

4. When the matter was taken up for consideration, the learned Additional Public Prosecutor submitted that the respondents are not harassing the petitioners. The second respondent is searching for the son of the petitioners, as he is involved in a murder case. The petitioners are called by the respondents only for the purpose of enquiry with regard to their son. The counsel for the petitioner submitted that the respondent police is harassing the petitioners and threatening the petitioners to hand over the son. But the said statement is denied by the learned Additional Public Prosecutor and only in order to avoid the enquiry, the petitioners have filed the present petition.

5. Considering the submissions made on either side, this Court is constrained to pass the following order:- (i) The petitioners are directed to cooperate with the enquiry.

(ii) The respondents are directed to conduct the enquiry in accordance with law, without harassing the petitioners.

6. The criminal original petition is ordered accordingly.
