The petitioner has filed this writ petition seeking issuance of 1/4

Writ of Mandamus directing the respondent to provide the petitioner permanent alternative light duty, in the light of Section 20 of Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016 and on the basis of the medical board recommendations, with pay protection and continuity of service and all other attendant benefits on par with other employees. 2.The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner is suffering from 70% vision loss. Hence, he has given representation on 13.02.2025 to give a light duty and such representation is pending with the respondent. 3.At this juncture, the learned Standing Counsel would submit that the respondent would consider the representation of the petitioner, within a reasonable time.

4.In such view of the submission, this Court, without going into the merits of the writ petition, deems it appropriate to direct the respondent to consider the above representation of the petitioner upon its own merits and in accordance with law and pass orders, within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 2/4
