ORDER

This Criminal Original Petition has been filed seeking police protection to the life of the petitioner and for his agricultural activities in the land comprised in S.F.Nos.349/1A2 and 349/1C2 situated at Vavipalaym Village, Palladam Taluk, Tiruppur.

2. Heard the learned counsel appearing on either side and perused the materials available on record.

3. It is seen that based on the complaint lodged by the petitioner, an FIR has been registered in Crime No.106 of 2023 for the offences under Sections 296(b), 323 and 506(i) of IPC and Section 4 of the Tamil Nadu Prohibition of Harassment of Women Act. After completing the investigation, the same was closed as "Mistake of Facts" on 16.05.2023. Further, it is seen that this is nothing but a civil dispute between the petitioner and the respondents 3 to 6 herein.

4. In view of the above, police protection cannot be granted. Accordingly, this Criminal Original Petition stands dismissed. However, the petitioner is at liberty to approach the Civil Court for appropriate 2/4

relief.
