The petitioner seeks anticipatory bail in Crime No.60 of 2022 registered by the respondent Police originally for the offence under Section 498(A) of IPC and subsequently, altered to Sections 498(a), 294(b), 323, 506(ii) of IPC r/w Section 4 of Tamilnadu Prohibition of Women Harassment Act.

2.The petitioner is aged 23 years. The marriage between the petitioner and the defacto complainant was solemnized on 23.04.2021. The petitioner had lived only for one month with the defacto complainant. It is claimed that he demanded dowry. Originally, the complaint was registered for the offence under Section 498(A) of IPC and subsequently, on further enquiry, Section 323 of IPC has also been added. 3.It is stated by the learned counsel for the petitioner that the mediation reports have been received but they did not yield any positive result. vkr 4.According to the learned counsel for the petitioner, the complaint had been lodged only because the defacto complainant wanted the petitioner to stay with her but she had run away from the matrimonial home after a period of one year.

5. Considering all these circumstances, this court is not inclined to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner.
