O R D E R

The present Criminal Original Petition has been filed seeking a direction to the respondent police to file a final report after the completion of due investigation in Crime No.179 of 2014 within the time frame.

2. The petitioner has leased out his land to one V.Seenuvasan and the said Seenuvasan cultivated plantain in the said land. On 05.09.2014 at about 6.30 p.m, one Sivasuriyan, Ganapathy and Selvaraj entered in to the land of the petitioner and abused the said Seenuvasan in filthy language and damaged the plants by cutting them down and they threatened the said Seenuvasan and the petitioner with dire consequences. Immediately, the petitioner lodged a complaint against the said persons. Based on the complaint given by the petitioner, a case has been registered in Crime No.179 of 2014 under sections 294 (b), 427 and 506(ii) IPC. Though the case has been registered in the year 2014, till date there is no progress in the investigation of this case. Hence, the petitioner has come forward with the present petition.

3. I have heard the learned Additional Public Prosecutor as well as the learned counsel for the petitioner.

4. Considering the facts and circumstances of the case, the respondent police is directed to investigate the case in Crime No.179 of 2014 pending on his file and file a final report as expeditiously as possible, preferably within a period of four months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 5.

The Criminal Original Petition is ordered accordingly.
