This petition has been filed to direct the Judicial Magistrate, Vedaraniyam, Nagapattinam District, to expedite the trial in CMP.No.1608/2012 within a specified time.

2. The petitioner married the first respondent on 2.9.2005 which is an inter-caste marriage. Out of the wedlock, a girl child was born on 8.6.2006. The petitioner and the first respondent lived in a separate house at chikkal. The first respondent harassed the petitioner demanding dowry. Hence, the petitioner filed C.M.P.No.1608/2012 under the Domestic Violence Act. The said petition has been adjourned periodically for more than 50 hearings. Till date, nothing has happened. Hence, the present petition has been filed.

3.Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner. In view of the limited order going to be passed hereunder, this Court is of the opinion that there is no need to issue notice to the respondents.

4. Considering the facts and circumstances of the case, this Court directs the learned Judicial Magistrate, Vedaraniyam, Nagapattinam, to expedite the trial in CMP.No.1608/2012 and complete the same as early as possible, preferably within a period of four months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5. The criminal original petition is disposed of accordingly.
