Respondents PRAYER : Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of a writ of mandamus directing the respondents to extend the buses on Route No.1 and 2 of the respondents 3 and 4 till Kristianpettai based on the representation of the petitioner dated 23.05.2017. ORDER

(Order of the Court was made by the Hon'ble Chief Justice) This writ petition has been filed by way of public interest litigation seeking extension of the bus route till Kristianpettai.

2. According to the petitioner, there is a four lane road which passes through Kristianpettai and goes to Chittoor (Andhra Pradesh). There is also sufficient space for bus terminus at Krsitianpettai. If the buses plying on route Nos.1 and 2 between Bagayam and Katpadi (Vallimalai road) are extended upto Kristianpettai, the residents of numerous villages will be benefited, including Chenguttai, Kalpudhur, Periyaputhur, K.S.K.Nagar, Mettukulam etc.

3. After hearing the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Special Government Pleader appearing on behalf of respondent Nos.1 and 2, we dispose of the writ petition by directing the second respondent/District Collector, Vellore, who is the Regional Transport Authority, to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 23.05.2017 in consultation with respondent No.3 and to take a decision thereon at the earliest, preferably within a period of two months from the date of communication of this order.
