Writ petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for a writ of mandamus to direct the respondents 1 and 2 herein to provide a fresh and individual electricity connection to the petitioners' property situate at Korattur Village, Thiruvallur District, Ambattur Taluk comprised in Survey No.309/1A1A1 part TS.No.71/2, Block - 38 Ward-E measuring an extent of 6183 sqft. pending disposal of the above writ petition.

Heard the learned counsel for the petitioners and the learned Standing Counsel appearing for the respondents and with their consent, the writ petition is taken up for final hearing. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

The petitioners have filed this writ petition to direct the respondents to provide electricity service connection to their property situate at Korattur Village, Thiruvallur District, Ambattur Taluk comprised in Survey No.309/1A1A1 part TS.No.71/2, Block - 38 Ward-E measuring an extent of 6183 sqft. From the counter affidavit filed by the 2nd respondent, it is seen that a big group of people are objecting to the petitioners' request. Yet, the 2nd respondent is willing to consider the case of the petitioners, provided appropriate documents regarding ownership are produced by them in respect of the said property in S.F.Nos.311 and 312.

Learned counsel for the petitioners, on instructions, would submit that the petitioners would produce all the relevant documents before the 2nd respondent.

In the light of the above, the writ petition is disposed of by directing the petitioners to produce all the relevant documents before the 2nd respondent along with a copy of this order and thereafter, the 2nd respondent shall take appropriate action in accordance with law, after notice to all concerned, within a period of eight weeks from the date on which the documents are produced.
