ORDER
The writ petition has been filed to issue a writ of mandamus to the respondents to pay interest for the belated payment of petitioners' terminal benefits, such as Provident Fund, Gratuity, Earned Leave Salary and commuted
value of pension at the rate of 10 % per annum within a time frame to be fixed by this Court.

The case of the petitioners is that the petitioners were appointed as Driver, Conductor, and Helpers in the first respondent Corporation and retired from service on attaining the age of superannuation as Senior Tradesmans, Special Grade Driver, and Traffic Inspector in the year 2025. However, their terminal benefits have been settled to the petitioners only on 11.03.2026 and no interest has been paid for the delayed period. Therefore, the petitioners had submitted a representations to the respondents on 18.03.2026, 20.03.2026, 25.03.2026 and 31.03.2026 seeking payment of interest for the delayed settlement of terminal benefits. Since the said representations were not considered, the present writ petition has been filed. 3.
The learned Standing Counsel for the respondents would fairly submit that the respondents are willing to pay the interest at the rate of 6% per annum for the belated payment of the eligible and admissible amount. 4.
Heard the learned counsel for both sides and perused the materials available on record.

In view of the above submission of the learned Standing Counsel, this Court deems it appropriate to direct the respondents to pay interest at the rate of 6% per annum for the belated payment of eligible and admissible terminal benefits from the date of retirement till the date of actual disbursal of the terminal benefits of the petitioners, within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
