The present Criminal Original Petition has been filed seeking a direction to the respondent police to file the final report in Crime No.67 of 2014 pending investigation of the respondent police within the time framed.

2. The petitioner has lodged a complaint as against Santhosh stating that he has set fire to his house, thereby his entire cloth materials, cycle, vessels and other grocery items have been damaged. Based on the complaint given by the petitioner, a case has been registered in Crime No.67 of 2014 under section 436 IPC. Though the case has been registered in the year 2014, till date there is no progress in the investigation of this case. Hence, the petitioner has come forward with the present petition.

3. I have heard the learned Additional Public Prosecutor as well as the learned counsel for the petitioner.

4. Considering the facts and circumstances of the case, the respondent police is directed to investigate the case in Crime No.67 of 2014 pending on his file and file a final report as early as possible.
