This application is filed by the Official Liquidator under Section 446(2) of the Companies Act, 1956 for a direction to the Tamil Nadu Electricity Board to pay the debt due of Rs.19 lakhs with interest thereon. 2.In response to this application, the Tamil Nadu Electricity Board filed a counter affidavit dated 15.12.2021. In such counter, it is stated that the company in liquidation made a security deposit of Rs.13,20,170/-. After adjusting the dues of the company in liquidation towards electricity consumption, belated payment surcharge and dismantling cost from the above deposit, it is stated that a sum of Rs.10,73,957/- is available. It is also stated that this was communicated to the Official Liquidator under letter dated 23.11.2020. 3.In view of the averments in the counter affidavit of the Tamil Nadu Electricity Board, this application is disposed of by directing the Tamil Nadu Electricity Board to remit a sum of Rs.10,73,957/- to the Official Liquidator, High Court of Madras, within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
