Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India to issue a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents 1st to 6th to dispose the petitioner's representation dated 18.05.2012.

By consent, the writ petition is taken up for final disposal.

2.The petitioners claim that their father was the owner of 7 cents in S.No.366/2, Thandurai Village, Pattabiram, Tiruvallur District and during his lifetime, tried to get patta, but it ended in futility. The petitioners during the course of regular visit, came to know that some third parties are fencing their land and removed the same and reported the same to T9 Police Station, but however, no action was taken and some third person continue to disturb the possession of the petitioners. The petitioners have also, vide representation dated 18.05.2012, moved the respondent for change of patta and for the reason that patta has been issued in the name of wrong persons, made representation dated 16.08.2013, to the third respondent and it was acknowledged by the office of the third respondent on 19.08.2013.

The petitioners have followed it up and the office of the third respondent vide urgent memo dated 17.01.2014, has directed the Land Surveyor, Avadi to inspect the land and submit a report, so as to enable them to take further steps. 3.The grievance now expressed by the petitioners is that despite the direction given by the office of the third respondent to the Land Surveyor, Avadi to inspect the land and submit a report, no steps have been taken to change the patta to the name of the petitioners by making correct entries. Therefore, came forward to file this writ petition. 4.Heard the submissions of Mr.P.Murali, learned counsel appearing for the petitioners and Mr.R.Govindasamy, learned Special Government Pleader who accepts notice on behalf of the respondents.

5.Though the petitioner prayed for a larger relief, this Court in the light of the above facts and circumstances, directs the third respondent to act on the representation dated 18.05.2012, submitted by the petitioners and get report from the Land Surveyor, Avadi, and after putting on notice the persons concerned, pass orders in accordance with law within a period of ten weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order and communicate the decision taken, to the petitioner as well as to the persons concerned.
