O R D E R

This Criminal Original Petition has been filed to quash F.I.R.No.46 of 2022 dated 7/3/2022, pending on the file of the first respondent, for the offences punishable under Sections 3 (2) (a), (b); 4 (2) (c) 5 (1) (a), (d); 7 of Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act, 1956 and Section 370 A (2) and 34 of the Indian Penal Code.

2. Heard Mr.P.V.Balasubramanian, learned counsel for the petitioner, Mr.V.Balamurugane, learned Public Prosecutor (Pondy) for the first respondent.

3. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner, who has been arrayed as A.5, is only a landlord and he is in no way connected with the offence.

4. A perusal of the First Information Report would indicate that the petitioner/landlord has knowledge of running a brothel house, in his building, this Court is not inclined to quash the F.I.R.No.46 of 2022 dated 7/3/2022, pending on the file of the first respondent.

5. In the result, this Criminal Original Petition is dismissed. The first respondent Police is directed to complete the investigation and file a final report, as expeditiously as possible. Consequently, the connected Criminal Miscellaneous Petition is closed.
