ORDER

This petition has been filed for issuance of writ of Mandamus to direct the respondent to transfer the patta in Survey No.3129/2A2 and 3129/2A1 to the petitioner's name based on the petitioner's representation dated 07.03.2022.

2. Mr.Yogesh Kannadasan, learned Special Government Pleader takes notice for the respondent. In view of the limited relief sought for in this petition, on the consent expressed by the Learned counsel appearing on either side, this petition is taken up for final disposal.

3. The case of the petitioner is that the land in Survey Nos.3129/2A2 and 3129/2A1 in 4th Division, Door No.14-B, Olimohamed Pettai Road, Kanchipuram Town was belonged to the petitioner's mother. During her lifetime, she executed a settlement deed in favour of the petitioner and her brother. Through the above said settlement deed, a vacant land to an extent of 672 sq.ft. was allotted to the petitioner. However, till date, the patta stands in the name of the petitioner's mother. Hence, the petitioner sent a representation dated 07.03.2022 to the respondent seeking to transfer the patta in her name. But, till date, no action has been taken by the respondent. Hence, the petitioner is before this Court.

4. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that it would suffice, if this Court issues direction to the respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 07.03.2022, within a stipulated 2/4

time frame as fixed by this Court.

5. The learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondent has no objections for the said order being passed and he submitted that appropriate order will be passed on the said representation within a stipulated time frame.

6. This Court has carefully considered the rival submissions and also perused the materials placed before it.

7. In view of the limited prayer sought for by the petitioner, this Court without expressing any opinion on the merits of the case, directs the respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 07.03.2022 on merits and in accordance with law and pass appropriate orders, within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
