This revision arises against the order of learned XI Judge, Small Causes Court, Chennai, rejecting the memo filed by petitioners under order dated 05.04.2016.

2. Respondent/landlord has filed R.C.O.P.No.585 of 2015 on the file of Rent Controller, Small Causes Court, Chennai, seeking an order of eviction. First petitioner/tenant has filed a memo seeking an order dismissing the petition invoking Or.9 R.8 CPC. The Court below, under order dated 05.04.2016, dismissed the memo. Hence, this revision.

3. Heard learned counsel for petitioners.

4. This revision is to be dismissed on the sole ground that proceedings before the Rent Controller are summary in nature and the provisions of the Civil Procedure Code strictly are not applicable. The Civil Revision Petition is dismissed. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
