Respondents Prayer: Criminal Original Petition is filed under Section 482 of Criminal Procedure Code, to issue a direction, directing the Respondents herein to give Police Protection to the petitioners to live in their house peacefully to lead marital life at No.273, Madha Koil Street, Kunniyur, Sikkadu Post, Kallakurichi Taluk, Villupuram District to consider the representation of the petitioners dated 31.05.2019.

O R D E R

This petition has been filed seeking for police protection to the petitioners and their family members.

2.It is seen from the records that the first petitioner and the second petitioner had a love affair which ultimately resulted in intercaste marriage. This was not to the liking of the parents of the first petitioner and therefore, there is a potential life threat for the petitioner and her husband and his family members. Therefore, a representation was given before the respondent police seeking for police protection and since the same was not acted upon, the present petition has been filed seeking for appropriate direction.

3. Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioners and the learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side) appearing for the respondents.

4. Taking into consideration the facts and circumstances of the case, the second respondent is directed to act upon the complaint dated 31.05.2019 given by the petitioners and call the counter parties and advice them not to interfere with the life of the petitioners. If in spite of the same there is any interference, appropriate action shall be taken in accordance with law and if necessary, police protection shall be given to the petitioners.

5. With the above directions, this Criminal Original Petition stands disposed of.
