O R D E R

(The case has been heard through video conference) The petitioner, who apprehends arrest at the hands of the respondent police for the offences punishable under Sections 465, 467, 468, 471, 420 & 120(B) IPC in Crime No.7 of 2018 on the file of the respondent police, seeks anticipatory bail.

2. The case of the prosecution as per the defacto complainant Kalaiyarasan is that the petitioner along with other accused received amount to the tune of Rs.2 Crores from several job seekers on the false promise to get job in Food Corporation of India but cheated several victims. Hence, the complaint.

3. The learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner is an innocent person and he has been falsely implicated in this case. He further submitted that the main accused viz., Sobia and Ravichandran were arrested and enlarged on bail. Hence, he prays for grant of anticipatory bail to the petitioner.

4. The learned Additional Public Prosecutor would vehemently oppose the petition stating that the petitioner along with other accused entered into conspiracy and in the guise of obtaining employment in the Food Corporation of India had cheated the defacto complainant and another 23 victims to the tune of Rs.2 Crores. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

Taking into consideration the facts and circumstances of the case and the submissions made by the learned counsels and the fact that the amount involved is very huge, this Court is not inclined to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner. Accordingly, this Criminal Original Petition is dismissed.
